The injuries that come out of Interbay offices

Interbay is not a neighborhood people live in so much as one they work in. Expedia's campus and the offices along Elliott Avenue West hold thousands of people who spend the day at a screen, and the pattern that produces is consistent enough that our therapists recognize it before the intake form is finished.

Shoulders that have crept upward. A neck that will not turn as far one way as the other. Headaches that start at the base of the skull in the afternoon. Wrists and forearms that ache after a long stretch of typing. None of it is dramatic on any single day, which is exactly why it goes untreated until it is months old.

We treat it as a clinical problem rather than a tension you deserve a break from. Sessions use deep tissue, neuromuscular therapy and myofascial release, chosen for what your body is doing that day rather than from a menu.

What we see most from screen and desk work

Sitting still is a load, not a rest. Held long enough it shortens the muscles at the front of the neck and chest and overworks the ones across the upper back, and the result is a set of complaints that arrive together: neck pain and stiffness, shoulder pain, and tension headaches that feel like they start behind the eyes.

Two more turn up often enough to name. Thoracic outlet syndrome, where the nerves and vessels between the neck and the chest get compressed and the arm goes heavy or numb. And carpal tunnel and nerve pain, which people assume means surgery and often does not.

  • Neck stiffness and limited rotation
  • Upper back and shoulder blade pain
  • Tension headaches, often late in the day
  • Carpal tunnel and forearm pain from typing
  • Thoracic outlet syndrome
  • Low back pain from prolonged sitting
  • Hip tightness and sciatica
  • Jaw clenching and TMJ pain

Insurance information

Large employers tend to buy plans with out-of-network benefits, and most people never check whether theirs has them. It is worth one phone call: if your plan covers out-of-network massage, you pay us at the visit and claim the money back yourself using a Superbill, and a good number of our clients do exactly that.

FSA and HSA cards work here too, which is the simpler route if you have the funds. Car accident (PIP) and work injury (L&I) claims we bill directly, and you pay nothing at the visit. Full insurance details.

How far we are from Interbay

Interbay is a longer trip than it looks on a map, because Elliott Avenue is fast and everything either side of it is not. Real times to 100 Wall Street:

  • Outreach, 333 Elliott Ave W — 19 minutes on foot, 10 by bus
  • 15th Ave W and the Interbay shops — 19 minutes by bus
  • Expedia Group campus — 21 minutes by bus, 43 on foot
  • Magnolia Village — 28 minutes by bus

The RapidRide D runs down 15th Avenue West and along Elliott to within a couple of blocks of us, which makes it the sensible way to do this trip from almost anywhere in Interbay. From the Expedia campus it is around twenty minutes, and that is genuinely faster than driving in and finding somewhere to leave the car.

There is paid street parking on Wall Street and paid lots within a block or two. We do not validate, and Belltown parking is Belltown parking, so at rush hour the bus is usually faster than circling.

Worth booking around your day

Because the trip is twenty minutes rather than five, the appointments that work best from Interbay are the ones at either end of the day. Our hours run into the early evening on weekdays, and we are open both weekend days, which is the easiest option if you would rather not build it into a working afternoon.
